In the recent Lok Sabha polls in Maharashtra, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) secured 17 seats, marking a significant decrease from 2019. The BJP’s share dwindled to nine seats from the 23 it won previously.

Maharashtra is the second-largest state in terms of Lok Sabha constituencies, with 48 seats. Elections here were conducted across five phases on April 19, 26, May 7, 13, and 20.

Voter turnout in the state stood at 61.33%, slightly higher than the 60.79% turnout recorded in 2019.

Earlier, Eknath Shinde of the Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar of the NCP had realigned themselves with the BJP, while their counterparts, Uddhav Thackeray of Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar of NCP, remained aligned with the INDIA bloc.
