Hardeep Singh Puri was first appointed as Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas in 2021. In Modi’s second-term Puri also held the position of Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs.

Hardeep Singh Puri has been re-appointed as the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas in the third-term under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Puri, however, would not be leading the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Former Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar will be heading this ministry under Modi 3.0.

On June 9, Narendra Modi took oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term. He became the second leader after former PM Jawaharlal Nehru, to serve as the prime minister for a third consecutive term after completing the full tenure of each previous term.

Besides Modi, 71 council of ministers also took oath including 30 cabinet ministers, five ministers of state with independent charge, and 36 minister of state (MoS).
