A day after he was released on interim bail from Tihar Jail Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal offered prayers at the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place in the national capital. He was accompanied by wife Sunita Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is all set to begin campaigning for Lok Sabha elections today as he will underatake a roadshow along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Kejriwal was granted interim relief by the Supreme Court on Friday. He will be out on interim bail until June 1, the seventh and last phase of polling.
Security was beefed up outside Hanuman Mandir, Connaught Place, ahead of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's visit.
The Delhi Chief Minister greeted the crowd with the slogans "Bharat Mata Ki Jai," "Vande Mataram," and "Inquilab Zindabad" before thanking them for their support and the Supreme Court justices for granting him bail.
“It feels good to be amongst you all. I had promised to come back soon and here I am…I have a request, we have to save the country from dictatorship. I am fighting against it with all might, but 140 crore people (of the country) will have to come together to fight against it,” he said.
Kejriwal's roadshow today
Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are scheduled to take part in a roadshow in South Delhi.
He informed reporters, standing through his car's sunroof, "I will take part in the roadshow with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann." Following his Friday release from Tihar Jail, this will be his first tour.
Sahi Ram Pahalwan, a candidate for the South Delhi parliamentary seat, has been nominated by the AAP.
Kejriwal declared that he will go to a Hanuman temple first thing in the morning. In addition, the CM will have a news conference prior to launching his campaign.

The Delhi CM was greeted with flowers by his parents when he arrived home later that evening. His mother does a traditional "aarti" to greet him as he enters the home.
The chief minister reached his residence in the Civil Lines area around 8.20 pm from the prison complex.
Opposition leaders on Kejriwal's interim bail
The opposition leaders expressed their gratitude to the Supreme Court for granting the AAP leader interim release, stating that the "fight to save democracy" will now be waged with greater vigour.
Former chief minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren should also receive appropriate justice, according to Congress politician Pawan Khera.
Mamata Banerjee, the leader of the Trinamool Congress and chief minister of West Bengal, expressed her happiness at the Supreme Court's decision, stating, "I am very happy to see that Arvind Kejriwal has got interim bail." In light of the next elections, it will be quite beneficial.
The leader of the NCP (SP), Sharad Pawar, stated that the nation is still unwavering in its quest of democracy.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress have agreed to share seats, with the AAP running for four Lok Sabha seats in Delhi and the Congress fielding candidates in three.
In a money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy fraud, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to the AAP national convenor till June 1.
