NEET PG 2024 Exam Date

NEET PG 2024: The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a petition calling for the postponement of the NEET PG 2024 exam, scheduled for 11 August. A bench of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra denied the request, emphasising the potential impact on lakhs of students.

The petitioners argued that candidates are facing difficulties in reaching their assigned exam centres due to short notice. The allocation of test cities was announced on 31 July, with specific exam centre details released on August 8, leaving little time for travel arrangements.

However, the court ruled that rescheduling the exam would unfairly affect over 2 lakh students. During the hearing, the Chief Justice said that, as a matter of principle, rescheduling will not be considered. The decision affects 2 lakh students and 4 lakh parents. It would be unjust to jeopardise the futures of these 2 lakh students for the sake of five petitioners.

The decision comes amid allegations of a paper leak, with reports of the question paper being circulated on social media for a substantial sum. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has dismissed these claims as false and misleading. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has filed a police complaint against those involved in the fraudulent activity.
