On August 31, 2025, DSP Anjana Krishna led a team of police and revenue officials to Kurdu village in Solapur to take action against illegal sand mining. As they began their work, a crowd of 15–20 people gathered and tried to stop them. Among them were four individuals who allegedly used force to prevent the officials from doing their duty.

What happened next surprised everyone. During the operation, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar called Anjana's phone. In a video that later went viral, Anjana can be heard calmly asking Pawar to call her official number for verification. Opposition accused Pawar of threatening her, though he later clarified that his only intention was to ensure peace and not to interfere with law enforcement.
Anjana's calm and professional response during the call won widespread praise. Despite the pressure, she did not back down. She continued with her duty, and a case was filed against the four individuals for unlawful assembly and obstructing public servants.
