CBSE 12th Business Studies Exam Review: Check Paper Analysis from teachers & students feedback

Students had mixed reactions to the exam. Many found it manageable, particularly those who had practised NCERT-based case studies and previous years' papers. However, some students found the case-based and application-based questions challenging, as they required logical reasoning and critical thinking. While MCQs and direct questions were generally easy, a few assertion-reasoning questions proved to be tricky. Time management played a crucial role, as students had to structure their answers well within the given time.

Teachers' Feedback

Teachers, on the other hand, gave positive feedback on the exam pattern and question distribution. They noted that the paper was balanced and covered all major topics without unexpected out-of-syllabus questions. The case-based and assertion-reasoning questions required deep conceptual clarity, making it difficult for students who relied only on memorisation. Overall, teachers believe that students who focused on understanding concepts and practised case studies would perform well in the exam.

Priyanka Sapra, a teacher at Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon, described the Business Studies paper as well-balanced, with a strong focus on both conceptual understanding and application-based learning. She said that the paper closely followed the NCERT curriculum, making it manageable for students who had thoroughly revised from the textbook. The mix of direct and application-based questions kept students engaged, while the case-based questions were particularly well-received, contributing to a satisfying exam experience.

Vedika Singh, a teacher at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, said that students found the CBSE Business Studies 2025 exam easy to moderate. Those who had practiced NCERT-based questions, case studies, and previous years’ papers felt comfortable with the paper.

Overall, the CBSE Class 12 Business Studies exam 2025 was well-structured and fair, testing both theoretical and analytical skills. Students with strong conceptual knowledge and a good grasp of case studies are expected to score well.

The section-wise breakdown:

• 1-mark questions – Mostly easy to moderate, with 20% requiring higher thinking skills.


• 3-mark questions – Clear and easy to understand.

• 6-mark questions – A mix of direct and application-based questions. One case-based question was slightly complex and required deeper thinking, which matched the expected paper pattern.

The CBSE Class 12 Business Studies exam was conducted in the traditional pen-and-paper format at examination centres nationwide. The paper carried a total of 80 marks, with an additional 20 marks allocated for internal assessments. Students were given three hours to complete the paper, with an additional 15 minutes for reading the question paper.
