A late-night bike ride ended in tragedy when two young professionals were killed after their high-speed Ducati Scrambler smashed through safety railings and plunged into an under-construction underpass in Greater Noida West. The incident occurred near the Char Murti roundabout in the early hours of Tuesday.

The victims, identified as Ankur Singh (28) and Kashish (25), were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash, police confirmed. According to reports, Ankur had picked up Kashish from her residence in the 14th Avenue apartment complex around 2:30 am before the accident. The duo was likely heading towards Ankur’s home in Panchsheel Greens-2 when the bike lost control at high speed, rammed through an iron guardrail and fell into a 7-foot-deep pit, News18 reported.

Police said the impact was so severe that the sandbags placed behind the guardrail failed to cushion the fall. Both victims reportedly landed on construction debris or machinery inside the pit, sustaining fatal injuries.

They were rushed to the District Hospital in Sector 39 but were declared dead on arrival. "They were brought in with severe trauma. Neither had a helmet on," Dr Renu Aggarwal, Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of the hospital, was quoted by TOI.
