A five-year-old boy has sustained serious injuries after being mauled by a stray dog within a police residential colony in east Delhi’s Shakarpur, according to a News18 report. The incident occurred on Sunday when the child was visiting relatives with his father.

The attack was reportedly sudden, with the stray dog pouncing on the young boy and inflicting multiple deep bite wounds.

The child’s screams alerted a police inspector residing in the colony, who rushed to the scene and managed to pull the dog away. The injured boy was subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Confirming the severity of the attack, police stated, “The child received deep wounds in the attack. He has been admitted to a hospital where his condition is now stable.”
