‘I’m policeman’s son’: Drunk man rams car into disabled pedestrian in Pune, tries to settle case privately

A late-night accident in Narayan Peth, Pune, triggered chaos and outrage after a speeding car, allegedly driven by an intoxicated youth, hit a disabled pedestrian walking along the roadside.

According to the locals, the vehicle was carrying a group of youngsters who were allegedly returning from a party when the driver lost control and rammed into the man, Punekar News reported.

Police officials from Vishrambaug Police Station reached the spot soon after receiving a call. The police shifted the injured pedestrian to a nearby hospital, where he received first aid. Meanwhile, the driver, along with two young men and two young women who were travelling with him, were taken into custody for questioning.
