To provide four additional hours of service to accommodate public during Naveatri festival, Ahmedabad Metro services have been extended by four hours — from an end of 10 pm to 2 am — from September 26 to October 1. Presently, services are operational in Ahmedabad from 6:20 am to 10:00 pm, The Indian Express reported.
In a release issued on Wednesday, Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited announced the change for all three corridors of Vastral Gam to Thaltej Gam, Koteshwar Road to APMC and Motera Stadium to Sector 1 Gandhinagar.
Metro train services for the Vastral Gam–Thaltej Gam and Koteshwar Road–APMC corridors will run with a frequency of every 30 minutes after 10 pm, lasting until 2 am.
As for the Motera Stadium to Sector 1 Gandhinagar route, the frequency, as per the report, will be hourly from 10 pm onwards until 2 am, and for the Sector 1 till Motera Stadium, trains will be available hourly from 10 pm to 1 am.
During the extended hours, travel will be allowed only with a ₹50 special paper ticket, which will be available at all metro stations and will be used for a single journey each only.
