Two Delta aircraft collided while taxiing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on October 2, leaving one plane with part of its wing severed. A video of the incident has since circulated widely online.
Passengers said the collision occurred shortly after landing. “They were taxiing to the gate at LGA after landing at CLT when they were struck by another Delta regional jet that was taxiing by," a CBS News producer onboard flight DL5047 told reporters.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene immediately. Early reports indicated at least one person was injured, though details on the severity and whether others were affected remain unclear.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is expected to investigate the accident.
Photos and videos posted online showed visible damage to the Bombardier CRJ900, including dents and scrapes around the cockpit and nose area.
