President Donald Trump said that he is in “no rush” to finalise trade deals, asserting that tariffs are making the United States wealthy. During his meeting with Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni, however, he suggested reaching agreements with the European Union and other partners would be straightforward.

Trump dismissed the idea of speeding up negotiations, stating that other nations “want to make deals more than I do.”

“We're in no rush,” he said, implying that the U.S. holds leverage due to its consumer market appeal.

Although Trump shares a cordial rapport with Meloni, she was unable to sway him on his tariff policy during their talks.
