Tech billionaire Elon Musk and Antonio Gracias have raised fresh concerns over a dramatic rise in Social Security Numbers (SSNs) issued to non-citizens, unveiling what they called a "mind-blowing" chart during a recent presentation.
Musk, introducing Gracias on stage, pointed to startling discrepancies in the Social Security database. "We found 20 million dead people marked as alive in the Social Security system. This is so crazy," he said.
Gracias, who has been involved in reviewing Social Security processes, explained how their investigation uncovered an exponential increase in SSNs issued to non-citizens. "In 2021, there were 270,000 issued," he stated. "Now, in 2024, that number has skyrocketed to 2.1 million."
The two emphasised that their findings were not politically motivated. "This isn't political," Gracias insisted. "My family are immigrants. I'm pro-legal immigration. This is about America and its future."
Gracias detailed how undocumented immigrants arriving at the U.S. border can receive SSNs without rigorous checks. "Once they're in the country and apply for a work permit, the Social Security Administration automatically mails them an SSN—no interview, no ID required."
Musk went further, directly accusing the Biden administration of enabling the surge. "This wasn't just incompetence. The Biden administration wasn't asleep at the switch. It was a large-scale effort to import as many illegals as possible, ultimately to reshape the U.S. voting system and make it a permanent one-party state."
Gracias also revealed that their team discovered non-citizens registered to vote—some of whom had already cast ballots. "We took a sample, checked voter registration records, and found people in this group had registered and voted. We've already referred some cases for prosecution."
The revelations are likely to intensify political debate over immigration and Social Security oversight, with critics arguing the system is being exploited, while others caution against overgeneralising the data.
