The Nobel Prize in Physics 2025 has been awarded to John Clarke, Michel H Devoret and John M Martinis “for the discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunnelling and energy quantisation in an electric circuit.”

 

The Nobel Prize in Physics recognises contributions that have fundamentally advanced human understanding of the natural world.

The prize was announced by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences at their session hall in Stockholm, continuing the prestigious tradition of celebrating outstanding achievements in the field of physics.

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2024 was awarded jointly to John J. Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton "for foundational discoveries and inventions that enable machine learning with artificial neural networks".
