Jordan, Iraq, and Iran have closed their airspace amid the escalating conflict between Tel Aviv and Tehran.
Iraq’s Ministry of Transportation confirmed a “temporary closure of Iraqi airspace” and the full suspension of air traffic, according to the Associated Press.
"The ministry of transport closes Iraqi airspace and suspends air traffic at all Iraqi airports," the Iraq News Agency reported.
In Israel, Ben-Gurion International Airport, the country's primary aviation hub has also been closed until further notice, as announced by Israel’s Airports Authority.
Jordan implemented its own airspace shutdown following Israel’s early Friday strikes on Iran. The country’s civil aviation authority stated: "The kingdom's airspace is temporarily closed, and air traffic suspended for all aircraft -- incoming, outgoing and in transit, as a precaution against any risks resulting from the regional escalation."
According to Jordan News Agency, the measure was introduced as a precaution amid growing regional instability.
Government spokesperson Mohammad Momani told AFP: "Jordan has not and will not allow any violation of its airspace, reaffirming that the Kingdom will not be a battleground for any conflict.
