According to AP, Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban government’s chief spokesman, confirmed the event in a post on X, writing: “An explosion was heard in Kabul city. But don’t worry, it’s all good and well. The accident is under investigation, and no injuries have been reported yet. So far there is no report of any harm done.”

Residents in the capital also reported hearing what seemed to be another explosion in the Shar-e-Naw district, though officials have not verified any second blast.
