WhatsApp is rolling out a fresh set of updates, giving users new creative tools and quality-of-life improvements across iOS and Android. From richer photo sharing to AI-powered personalisation, the messaging app is broadening what conversations can look and feel like.

One of the headline additions is support for Live Photos (iOS) and Motion Photos (Android). These bring a moment to life with movement and sound, letting users share clips that feel more authentic than a static picture. The feature works seamlessly across platforms, ensuring friends see the moment as intended.

WhatsApp is also leaning further into Meta AI integration. Users can now generate custom chat themes with AI, expanding beyond the preset options introduced earlier this year. In video calls and chats, AI can create unique backgrounds — whether you want to appear at the beach, in outer space, or in a totally made-up setting. Not everyone will have access to these AI features yet, as Meta continues its phased rollout.

On the lighter side, WhatsApp has launched new sticker packs. With sets like Fearless Bird, School Days, and Vacation, users get more playful ways to react and express themselves without typing a word.
