Highest pre-orders for Galaxy Z Fold phone ever
Samsung has announced a major milestone for its seventh-generation foldables — the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE — with 210,000 pre-orders in just 48 hours of their launch on July 9, 2025. This marks the highest-ever pre-order tally for foldables in India and rivals the Galaxy S25 series in popularity. According to JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, this surge signals that foldable smartphones are becoming mainstream, especially among India’s tech-savvy youth.
Power meets performance and form
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is Samsung’s lightest and slimmest foldable to date, weighing just 215 grams and measuring 8.9mm when folded. Despite its sleek form, it delivers top-tier performance powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, with major gains in AI processing — including a 41% faster NPU. The foldable features an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, 11% larger than the previous version, with up to 2,600 nits peak brightness. A 200MP wide-angle camera and enhanced ProVisual Engine round out the package.
Galaxy Z Flip7: Pocket-sized Intelligence
Compact yet powerful, the Galaxy Z Flip7 features a new 4.1-inch edge-to-edge FlexWindow with Vision Booster for better outdoor visibility. It folds down to just 13.7mm and weighs only 188 grams, making it the slimmest Galaxy Flip ever. Powered by One UI 8 and Android 16, it offers AI-driven multitasking, advanced selfie capabilities, and a 4,300mAh battery — the largest in a Flip model — with up to 31 hours of video playback.
Durability and display technology
Both devices showcase Samsung’s latest engineering feats: the new Armor FlexHinge design reduces visible creasing, while Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and Victus 2 protect the cover displays. The Fold7’s main display uses a Titanium layer and 50% thicker Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) for added strength without added bulk. Armor Aluminum further reinforces durability across the foldables.
AI and Privacy at the Core
Running on One UI 8, both phones bring multimodal AI features, including screen-sharing via Google Gemini Live for contextual AI assistance. Privacy is enhanced through Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which creates secure, app-specific storage zones. These AI upgrades aim to maximize productivity and personalization on Samsung’s expansive foldable displays.
