Samsung is gearing up to launch its first-ever smart ring, the Galaxy Ring. This wearable device promises to track health metrics and offer insights on improving well-being. While an official date hasn't been announced yet, recent reports suggest it will arrive in August 2024.

This release date coincides with the release plans earlier released by Bloomberg Law. However, according to the same report, Samsung is preparing for a possible legal battle with Oura, a leading manufacturer in the smart ring industry. Oura is a long-standing manufacturer in the smart ring industry and is known for defending its patents related to health-tracking technology.

Samsung has taken this legal route to ensure that no legal complications emerge and that its upcoming Ring does not violate any infringements or patents of Oura. The company has started its legal pursuit with California's federal court and claims that the upcoming wearable has standard features, which are found on any smart ring.

The Galaxy Ring as the name suggests is a ring you wear on your finger that provides fitness and health tracking features. It is also expected to come with a built-in heart rate sensor and blood pressure monitoring. Further, many reports suggest that it would have wireless charging support and a battery life ranging from 5 to 9 days, depending on usage.
