Dell’s line up of laptops was rather confusing. There’s was the premium XPS series, which was rather clear. But beyond that? The Inspirons, the Latitudes, the Precisions — it was all a bit much to remember which series targeted which type of user. Not anymore. Dell has taken a bold step and ditched all its series of laptop names and replaced it with something simple. Some might argue that it’s too simple, where some might say that it is too ‘Apple’.

At an event ahead of CES 2025, Dell officially announced that going forward its laptops will be sold under Dell, Dell Pro and Dell Pro Max line up. Dell said that the idea behind the new branding is to make its product line up simple by having relatively straightforward names. Also, Dell said the company is going big on AI PCs and the new naming convention makes it simpler for consumers to understand what they will get.
