Co-op zombie shooting game Back 4 Blood could be getting a sequel, as per a report by MP1ST.com. The report is based on the information retrieved from the resume of Jesse Hutch, an actor and stuntman who worked on motion capture for Back 4 Blood. According to the report, there is mention of a Turtle Rock Studios project called “Gobi 2” in Jesse’s resume which could be Back 4 Blood 2 as the first game was codenamed “Gobi”. Also, the report adds that in May 2023, the domain “back4blood2.com” was registered and is still active, which gives more weight to the claim that Back 4 Blood 2 is in Turtle Rocks’s pipeline.
The first-person shooter from Turtle Rock Studios that allows up to four players to band together and take on zombie hordes and bosses, is seen as the spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead games. The Back 4 Blood development team consists of devs who’ve earlier worked on the Left 4 Dead titles. Left 4 Dead 2 is revered today still as one of the best co-op zombie slaying games of all time.
Turtle Rock Studios ceased any further content updates to Back 4 Blood in early 2023 to start working on a new project. The zombie slaying game had got three DLCs till then: Tunnels of Terror, Children of the Worm and River of Blood. Turtle Rock’s new project was believed to be Back 4 Blood 2, with numerous job listings dropping hints at the sequel.
