Harmanpreet Singh broke the deadlock in the seventh minute by converting a penalty corner but goals by Gonzalo Peillat and Christopher Ruehr in the second quarter gave Germany a one-goal advantage at the halftime mark. Sukhjeet Singh then helped India bounce back on level terms by converting a penalty corner in the third quarter. With six minutes remaining in the contest, Marco Miltkau restored Germany's one-goal advantage, which ensured they reach the final. India will now take on Spain in the bronze medal match.
