Poland's Iga Swiatek extended her French Open reign on Saturday as she thrashed Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-1 in the final to win her third successive Roland Garros title.

Iga Swiatek claimed her fourth Roland-Garros singles title and her third in three years with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in just 68 minutes. It is the Polish world No.1’s fifth Grand Slam trophy and she maintains her 100 per cent record in major finals having now won the first five of her career at the age of 23.

Swiatek extends her Roland-Garros win streak to 21 matches. Her last defeat in Paris came in the quarter-finals in 2021 when she lost to Maria Sakkari.

The first three games of the match suggested the contest would be much closer than it was after Paolini broke for a surprise 2-1 lead.
