Just a few hours after various media outlets ran stories about CSK possibly planning to release multiple players before the IPL 2026 auction, the Chennai Super Kings came out with a classic and humor-filled reply. On X (formerly Twitter), CSK changed its bio to: “Nothing’s official till you see it here.” In addition to the bio update, the team also shared the post, “Don’t worry, we’ve updated the bio,” indirectly hinting their disbelief towards the rumours.
The report had mentioned that Sam Curran, Deepak Hooda, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tripathi, and Devon Conway might be amongst those released. Nevertheless, no exit from the players has been officially confirmed yet.
Five-time IPL champions, however, are among the most successful teams in IPL history, but they had a season to forget in 2025, going on a four-win spree for the whole campaign. The announcement of retained players and the exit of unscheduled ones will be made by CSK at the end of the day on November 15 when the retention window closes.
