Rituals of Mahalakshmi Vrat
The observance of Mahalakshmi Vrat involves several rituals to honour the Goddess. Devotees begin their day with a bath before sunrise and gather all necessary puja materials. An altar is set up with an idol or image of Goddess Mahalakshmi. The puja includes offering a chunari (sacred cloth), betel nuts, coconuts, sandalwood, flowers, rice, and fruits to the deity. The sixteen adornments, which are essential in this ritual, are also offered during the puja.

A pot filled with clean water and topped with a coconut is placed near the goddess. A ghee lamp is lit, and the Mahalakshmi Aarti is performed. Devotees seek forgiveness for any mistakes made during the puja, a gesture that signifies humility and devotion.
