In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Hanuman Jayanti is observed as a 41-day festival. It begins on Chaitra Purnima and concludes on the 10th day of Krishna Paksha in the Vaishakha month. Devotees in these states take a Deeksha (spiritual vow) for 41 days, culminating on Hanuman Jayanti.

In Tamil Nadu, the festival is known as Hanumath Jayanthi and is celebrated on Margashirsha Amavasya, which usually occurs in December or January according to the Gregorian calendar.
