US President Donald Trump poked fun at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, over their clothing choice.
During an interview with Fox News, Trump referred to the young staffers at DOGE as 'geniuses' but added that they dress much worse than Musk who leads the department.
"He's (Musk) got some very brilliant young people working for him that dress much worse than him, actually. They dress in T-shirts. You wouldn't know that have a 180 IQ," the President said in the joint interview with the Tesla CEO.
In the interview, Trump told Fox News' Sean Hannity that Musk had talked to him about the implementation of executive orders. The US President said that the implemention of the orders was being carried out by the 'genius' members of DOGE.
"This is probably true for all presidents. You write an executive order and you think it's done. You send it out. [But] it doesn't get implemented. They don't implement it. Maybe they're from the last administration, and they are in some cases. You try to get them out as fast as you can," Trump recalled Musk saying.
"What Musk does is, he takes it and with his hundred geniuses," Trump said, before going off track and making fun of the DOGE team's dress code. "He's got some very brilliant young people working for him that dress much worse than him, actually. They dress in T-shirts. You wouldn't know that have 180 IQ," he added.
Earlier, Musk flaunted his T-shirt that he was wearing under his jacket for the interview. "My T-shirt says 'tech support' because I'm here to provide the President with technology support," he said as Trump laughed.
Donald Trump also heaped praise for the tech billionaire during the interview and said he couldn't find anyone smarter than Musk to lead DOGE.
"You know, I wanted to find somebody smarter than him. I searched all over. I just couldn't do it. I couldn't ... I really tried hard. I couldn't find anyone smarter. We settled on this guy," the US President said pointing towards Musk, who was sitting beside him during the interview.
