Queen Elizabeth II often enjoyed a glass of martini mid-air before meeting her guests and carried her own pillow to get a sound sleep, never-seen-before notes reveal.
According to the notes, maintained by a flight attendant who once served the monarch, there were certain special requests by Queen Elizabeth while flying.
"The Queen tends to like a martini before her guests arrive," Elizabeth Evans, who worked with the British Airways for 28 years, said in her notes.
Queen Elizabeth, who died in September 2022 aged 96, even liked a bowl of Velamints at hand before takeoff and only in her dressing room.
The notes, which disclose the Queen's flying habits, are scheduled to be auctioned at Hansons Auctioneers along with Evans' other collections. The attendant from Birmingham was also awarded a certificate to commemorate her service on the Royal Flight.
According to a report in The Mirror, the collection was found in Evans' study after her death in 2017.
As per the notes left behind by Evans, the longest-reigning monarch loved following route maps while flying. "Route map - Her Majesty enjoys looking at these," read a pointer in the never-seen-before notes.
Another revelation from the notes is that the Queen was not to be disturbed if she was asleep just before landing.
"If Her Majesty was asleep prior to landing cabin crew were instructed not to disturb her. She should be left in her bed," the auction house, which is said to have reviewed the notes, said.
The monarch would never compromise on her comfort while flying as she slept only on the pillows carried from home.
