Rejected Parties Do Not Allow Discussion In Parliament, Says PM Modi Ahead Of Winter Session

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the start of the winter session of Parliament, criticized opposition parties for disrupting parliamentary proceedings for political gains. He pointed out that individuals repeatedly rejected by the public were attempting to control the functioning of Parliament by causing chaos and disruptions. Modi emphasized the importance of healthy debates in the legislature, highlighting that such tactics ultimately fail as the public watches their behavior closely and delivers justice at the right time. His comments followed the BJP's decisive victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, where the BJP-led coalition won 235 seats, leaving the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi with just 49. Modi urged opposition members to allow the Parliament to function smoothly, noting that some agreed, while others continued to ignore the collective sentiment. The winter session, which will continue until December 20, is also significant as it marks the 75th anniversary of India’s Constitution.
