One of the world's most expensive Christmas trees has been unveiled in Germany. Crafted out of 2,024 gold Vienna Philharmonic coins (one of the world’s top-selling collector coins), the tree weighs 63 kg and is worth $5.5 million (about Rs 47 crore).

The gilded giant was created by Munich-based bullion dealers Pro Aurum. “Gold cannot be reproduced at will and retains its value over generations. The gold Christmas tree illustrates this timeless significance of the precious metal in an impressive way," said Benjamin Summa, spokesperson for Pro Aurum.
