Brawl in Sydney club after India beat Pakistan at World Cup

Fans from India and Pakistan exchanged blows at Sydney's Merrylands RSL Club on Sunday evening after India beat Pakistan in an ICC World Cup 2015 match in Adelaide.Groups of fans from either side had gathered to watch the live broadcast of the match that was played at the Adelaide Oval. But after India beat Pakistan by 76, their sixth victory in a row in World Cup matches against the archrivals, emotions got the better of rival fans."Four people were taken to hospital with a range of injuries after a wild brawl broke out between about 40 fans watching the match on a big screen at the club on Military Road about 9.30 pm," a report in the Sydney Morning Herald read."A witness said the brawl spilled out on to the street before police and paramedics arrived. Police said three people were taken to Westmead Hospital and one was taken to Auburn Hospital with a range of injuries that were not life-threatening," the report added.CCTV footage of the incident may be reviewed by the New South Wales police to decide if charges should be laid against individuals.
