Shah Rukh Khan recently revealed that his billionaire neighbour in Dubai is the city's ruler and prime minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He is also the vice president, and minister of defense of the UAE.
The Jawaan star shared the details recently at the World Government Summit in Dubai.
"He's a good neighbour," Shah Rukh Khan said.
In a video shared by Dubai-based community page, the actor said he loves being in the city.
"I spend a lot of time here (in Dubai). I have a beautiful house that has been given to me by Nakheel (a government of Dubai-owned real estate company). And it's one of the loveliest places in the world because nobody troubles me," Shah Rukh Khan said. "And His Excellency, the Prime Minister, also just told me that he stays next to it. So, the next New Year's party is with him. He's a good neighbour, but it's really lovely. I really, really enjoy being in Dubai. I truly love being here."
Shah Rukh Khan's story in Dubai also has a somewhat of a parallel in Mumbai. His neighbour in the Maximum City is Subhash Runwal who arrived in Mumbai in 1964 with only Rs 1,00 in his pocket and went on to become one of India’s biggest success stories.
The real estate mogul and billionaire is the founder and chairman of Runwal Group who found astonishing success only in his 30s.
Runwal’s stately Marine Mansion is a 10-storey structure that flanks Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat on Mumbai’s prime real estate – Bandra Bandstand. It stands as an enduring testament to Runwal’s meteoric rise from his humble roots to a bona fide Forbes billionaire.
