On December 16th, 2023, in Bengaluru, the Global AI Conclave organised by Palo Alto Networks, CNBC-TV18, and Moneycontrol marked a pivotal moment in the transformative influence of AI. The Conclave’s central vision aimed to forge a global platform fostering collaboration, enabling the exchange of knowledge, and championing the responsible exploration of AI. Distinguished speakers were featured, including luminaries, ministers, and diverse experts. Their themes delved into the technological domain and represented various industries and governmental perspectives. The discussions traversed the diverse benefits of AI, offering insightful perspectives on cybersecurity for individuals, nations, and customers.

At the Conclave, following the welcome address by Anil Valluri (MD & VP, Palo Alto Networks), Andrew Ng (Co-Founder of DeepLearning.AI, Coursera, AI Fund, and Google Brain) initiated his discourse with the captivating theme, 'AI Unleashed: View from Cerebral Valley.' Renowned as one of the foremost voices in AI, Andrew Ng expressed his conviction that India is poised to assume a global leadership role in the burgeoning field of artificial intelligence. He underscored this optimism due to India's remarkable AI skill penetration rate and the nation's substantial interest in advancing technology. During a fireside chat at the Conclave, Ng emphasized how groundbreaking technologies like generative AI can reshape the global landscape, presenting new opportunities for businesses of all sizes to thrive.

Shining a spotlight on the next luminary, Ashok Jhunjhunwala (Founder and President of IITM Research Park and IITM Incubation Cell), shared profound insights during his discussion on the topic 'FS: India’s AI Moonshot.' He emphasized that while AI is a powerful tool, the focus should be on addressing complex problems and contributing to societal advancement. Jhunjhunwala raised thought-provoking questions, contemplating the potential of AI to bridge substantial income disparities. He expressed confidence in AI, connectivity, sensors, and the collective capabilities of the youth and citizens to tackle numerous challenges. Illustrating these ideals in action, he highlighted initiatives at IIT Madras Research Park aimed at inspiring and empowering the younger generation.

Diving into another compelling speaker at the Conclave, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar took the stage to explore the intriguing topic, 'Keynote and FS: AI Innovation and Regulation: A Fine Balance.' Sharing his insights, he remarked, "We observe significant growth in AI. As it grows, there is also a significant amount of protection and regulation, and we are working on that." Chandrasekhar emphasised the importance of legal accountability on platforms to ensure safety and trust in AI developments. Looking ahead, he outlined plans for a multilateral understanding, expecting to establish guardrails for regulating AI within the next six months. Addressing concerns about the chip shortage in AI, Chandrasekhar expressed optimism, stating that the problem would resolve swiftly, with key players like Intel Corporation and AMD catching up with industry leaders like NVIDIA.
