The Bombay High Court asked the central government and consumer affairs ministry to spell out the powers and scope assigned to FMC to investigate and take remedial measures on Monday.
Today, consumer affairs minister KV Thomas said the FMC is merely a regulator and that his ministry does not have the teeth to look into the NSEL probe. Thomas further added that the NSEL issue is now the responsibility of the finance ministry.
