Horror stories of being stuck in traffic for hours after the downpour in Bengaluru on Monday are still being widely shared on social media. Several citizens have even questioned if it was worth living in the city with its terrible traffic woes that only worsen with every spell of rain.

Bengaluru received uninterrupted heavy rainfall from 2 am on Monday which left key routes waterlogged, severely affecting traffic. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), its city observatory on Palace Road recorded 74mm of rain within 24 hours.

"Just another day on the Bellandur Lake Road. 45 minutes in the same spot. Monday morning meeting missed with half my colleagues on the same road. Bengaluru is becoming uninhabitable. Where’s tax money going? Where are the traffic police?" wrote X user @AvgIndians.

"It rained heavily last night and now the entire city is stuck in traffic, no matter which govt comes into power there seems to be no solution for the city’s traffic and water logging problems, it just gets worse day by day," added user @nvtwxxts.
