Xiaomi-backed Chinese smartphone manufacturer Black Shark has announced its latest gaming smartphone in China. The phone will be available at a price starting at RMB 2,999 (approx Rs 31,134) and buyers can place orders for the phone from today in China.
The phone was subject to a number of teasers and speculations and prima facie it seems the teasers were accurate. The smartphone has been launched in two variants – 6GB/64GB version and 8GB/128GB version. The phones have been priced at RMB 2,999 and RMB 3,499 (approx Rs 36,330) in the Chinese market.
Features
As mentioned earlier the smartphone is designed keeping gamers in focus and boasts of features which support longer durations of gaming. The smartphone comes in a curvy design and is X-shape at the rear for a better grip.
Along with the fastest processor from Qualcomm’s stable the Snapdragon 845 the phone also has Adreno 630 GPU. In order to combat heating issues the smartphone features a multi-stage integrated liquid cooling system, which the company claims can cool down the CPU by about 8 degrees.
Apart from these features, the company has also announced Black Shark Gamepad which one can attach to the side of the phone during gaming. The device connects with the phone using Bluetooth and boasts of a 340 mAh battery which the company claims can last 30 hours of gaming. As part of the launch, the company has promised to provide the Gamepad free for the first 50,000 customers.
Specifications
The smartphone comes with a 5.99 inch full HD+ display with 2160*1080p resolution. The screen has an aspect ratio of 18:9 with 550 nits brightness level. The phone has dimensions of 161.62mm x 75.4mm x 9.25mm and is slightly on the thicker side at 9.25 mm. The phone weighs in at 190 grams thanks to its metal frame and metal back cover.
As mentioned earlier, the phone runs on a 2.8 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 845 and comes with LPDDR 4X 6GB/8GB RAM versions with internal storage of either 64GB or 128GB. The phone does not support memory expansion. Processing all the graphics is a snappy Adreno 630 GPU. The phone comes with the latest Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.
Coming to the camera, the phone features a dual-rear camera setup with a 12 megapixel + 20 megapixel snappers and a dual-LED flash. The sensors have an aperture rate of f/1.75 each. The phone features a 20 megapixel front camera with an aperture rate of f/2.2. Other features include Digital zoom, Auto focus, Make-up (front camera), HDR, Panorama (rear camera), PDAF etc.
The phone comes with a massive 4,000 mAh battery which support Quick Charge 3.0. The phone support 4G VoLTE, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C chord as connectivity features. The phone has a finger-print sensor placed at the bottom chin below the display. The phone comes in two colour options, Black and Grey.
