Highperformr, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) startup launched by former Freshworks executives Ramesh Ravishankar and Srivatsan Venkatesan, announced raising around $3.5 million in seed funding round led by Venture Highway, with participation from Neon and DeVC.
The announcement comes when investors are betting big on the booming Generative AI segment.
The round also saw participation from angel investors including Shan Krishnasamy - cofounder and former CTO of Freshworks - as well as Sidharth Malik, CEO of CleverTap; Suman Gopalan, board member of Unitus Capital; Arvind Parthiban,CEO and co founder of SuperOps; Alok Goel, CEO of DriveTrain; Tarkeshwar Thakur, CTO of DriveTrain.
The investment will be used for research and development to further develop Highperformr's native AI capabilities and to build a strong distribution network.
“We want to build the R&D team in India and most of our investment will be going into that and ofcourse we will also focus on distribution and build our sales team as well,” Ravishankar told Moneycontrol.
Highperformr was founded in July 2023 with its headquarters in Delaware, US and offices in India.
“Traditionally B2B marketing was all about paid medium, companies used to spend a lot of money to generate leads, however what is happening is that model is becoming obsolete and what better way to do it is to use social media. That’s where we come into play,” Ravishankar said.
The startup’s first product, Highperformr for Teams is a social presence platform designed to help B2B companies streamline their social media workflows; support social publishing, scheduling, and crossposting; team collaboration with approval workflows; brand building through employee advocacy; social selling; and social AI-driven analytics and insights.
Founders of Highperformr Ravishankar and Venkatesan come with experience in building CRM products and growing businesses at Freshworks and Google. Ravishankar joined Freshworks in 2015 as Senior Director of Marketing and Venkatesan joined Freshworks in 2014 as VP of product and business unit leader.
Venkatesan is a second-time entrepreneur, his first startup CloudNucleus was acquired by Zoho Corporation’s Vembu Technologies.
“The idea is to leverage LLM models to redefine social CRM space, we are a SaaS product and we leverage LLM and build a SaaS product on top of it,” Venkatesan said.
With the new startup, Ravishankar and Vekatesan will join the list of former Freshworks executives who have launched their own startups. In 2o23, around 15 startups like Happy Sales, Kale, Layerpath, Revolution.ai, StatStream and more were launched by former Freshworks executives including Highperformr.
