Smart home brand, Govee, announced updates to their AI Sync Box and Neon Rope Light line of products at CES 2024.
The updates Sync Box Kit 2 has a strip of RGB lights, two light towers and an HDMI box that can be plugged in to a PC or Console. The box will then read the signal and create immersive ambient lighting based on the game being played.
The original Sync Box had a camera that would read the display and attempt to expand colors for a more immersive experience. Unfortunately, it did not support HDMI 2.1 and the camera wasn't always accurate.
With their second go at the product, Govee has eliminated the camera entirely and the HDMI box that replaces it supports HDMI 2.1 and up to 8K resolution. It also supports 120Hz at 4K resolution.
Govee says that their AI CogniGlow tech will automatically activate pre-set lighting profiles for compatible games. It will also allow for complete customization of the profiles, allowing you to tweak the lighting to your heart's content.
The Sync Box Kit 2 also works with Google Assistant, Alexa and Govee Home. The company will roll out an update for Matter support later this year.
The Neon Rope Light 2 builds on the design of the original with new bend clips and more flexible material. Govee says the Light 2 can, "easily shape the light to the desired design".
Besides the updated portfolio, Govee announced that it is working on an AI chatbot of its own. Called Lighting Bot, the AI companion will be included in every Govee lighting solution going forward.
The company says that the bot can adapt and respond to various scenarios and can tailor lighting effects based on the situation.
