Spyker, owners of Saab Automobile have filed a lawsuit of $3 billion against General Motors. Spyker says that GM tortiously interfered with a transaction concerning the sale of Saab to a Chinese investor. The company also blames GM for driving Saab to bankruptcy.

Spyker had worked out a deal with Chinese automobile manufacturer Youngman with regards to the sale of Saab Automobiles. However, since lot of Saab products like the 9-5 and 9-4X involve GM engineering in them, the General had expressed concerns about it. GM competes in the Chinese market and obviously having to deal with competitors who use your technology was going to be a tough task. GM is then said to have made public proclamations saying that unless it gives its approval, Saab cannot be transferred to any other. Youngman, who had twice in the past unsuccessfully tried to acquire Saab, was irked by GM's latest interference and chose to walk away.

Youngman's investment in Saab, rumoured to be $3 billion, would have allowed the latter to restructure their operations.
