An FIR has been filed by the West Bengal police against NIA officials for alleged misconduct in the Bhupatinagar incident. This action follows a complaint from the wife of a detained TMC leader. Meanwhile, the NIA has defended itself, stating that the assault on its team during the operation was unprovoked.

The NIA has vehemently denied any malicious intent, countering accusations from the ruling TMC that it is acting in favor of the BJP. The situation has escalated into a political dispute, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing the TMC of orchestrating attacks on central investigative agencies to protect its corrupt leaders.

Amidst these allegations, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has slammed the use of central agencies to target her party members. TMC's national general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee, has also alleged collusion between the NIA and the BJP.
