Shiv Sena leads in 45 seats over BJP in KDMC polls in Maha

The MIM emerged as a surprise package as it managed to open its account in the local body elections by winning three seats. The MNS is leading on six seats while Congress and NCP are at the bottom with leads on three and two seats each.

With results being declared for Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation elections in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena has left its ally Bharatiya Janata Party behind as it is leading on 50 out of 122 seats and the counting is still underway.

The MIM emerged as a surprise package as it managed to open its account in the local body elections by winning three seats. The MNS is leading on six seats while Congress and NCP are at the bottom with leads on three and two seats each.

While Shiv Sena and BJP, allies in the state and at the Centre, are contesting the civic polls separately, the Congress and NCP have seat-sharing arrangement.

Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of BJP and MNS chief Raj Thackeray carried out intense electioneering.
