Rain washes out the match and RCB's chances of playoffs

For match 49 of IPL 2019 Royal Challengers Bangalore welcomed Rajasthan Royals on their home ground of M.Chinnaswamy Stadium,Bengaluru. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first. Soon after the toss, it rained heavily in Bangalore and the match could not get underway as the pitch and the outfield was under thick covers.  (Image: BCCI, iplt20.com)

After a delay of around 2 hours, the rains finally receded. Umpires inspected the playing conditions. The playing conditions were revised and the match was reduced to a 5-over side affair with each bowling just one over and 2 overs of powerplay. Things truned dramatically in the second over as RR spinner Shreyas Gopal scalped the wickets of Kohli, de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis off successive deliveries to complete a hat-trick.   (Image: BCCI, iplt20.com)
