Ace cricketer Virat Kohli, on his 35th birthday on November 5, scored his 49th ODI century against South Africa at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Kohli scored 101* in 121 balls. He equalled legend Sachin Tendulkar's record. Tendulkar scored his 49th ODI century in his 451st inning while Kohli equalled the record in his 277th innings.
Coincidentally, Kohli scored his first ODI century in the same ground as his 49th one - Eden Gardens. On December 24 2009, Kohli scored 107 runs in 114 balls against Sri Lanka. Kohli made his ODI debut against the same team in August 2008.
The 35-year-old cricketer in March 2012 scored his highest score at ODIs against Pakistan. He scored 183 runs in 148 balls. India won that match by 6 wickets and he was also awarded player of the match.
Kohli's second-highest score came earlier this year in January against Sri Lanka. He scored 166* in 110 balls. The batsman was awarded player of the match and later player of the season too for his exceptional skills.
In February 2018, Kohli scored 160* in 159 balls against South Africa in Cape Town. India won that match by a whopping 124 runs. He was awarded player of the match for his batting skills and exceptional fielding skills in which he caught two balls.
Virat Kohli, on October 2018 scored 157* in 129 balls against West Indies at Visakhapatnam. The match was tied and Kohli was awarded player of the match.
