When Aishwarya Sheoran, one of the country’s finest models, would sashay down ramps in couture, her eyes would glisten with dreams of becoming an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer.
Her dreams were finally realised when she cracked the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam 2019. Not only did she clear the competitive exam without any formal coaching, she also secured an impressive all India rank of 93 in the civil service examination.
All eyes have been on Sheoran since the UPSC 2019 results were declared on August 4 and the official Twitter handle of Miss India pageant congratulated the 2016 finalist on her feat.
The Miss India 2016 finalist was born in Rajasthan and had completed her education in Delhi. Her father is a colonel in the Indian Army and the family now resides in Mumbai, The Print reported.
The 23-year-old who considers civil service her 'true passion' says modelling is her 'hobby'. Sheoran prepared for her exams by keeping herself up to date with current affairs.
Elaborating on how she prepared for the civil service exams, she said: “The Internet proved to be the biggest boon in my preparation. From books, old interviews to current affairs and newspapers, everything is easily available on the Internet. I started my basic preparations from there only. I chose only one book for a topic and revised it repeatedly. Strategy holds the key in UPSC preparation.”
