For unusually heavy rains in the state of Telanagna, the IMD has issued a red alert. "On July 25, 26, and 27, Telangana has been placed under a red alert. Telangana is anticipated to see exceptionally heavy rain on July 25 over the eastern regions. According to IMD, Hyderabad and surrounding regions are anticipated to see very heavy rains.

Delhi Rains LIVE Updates: Traffic closed on one lane on Vikas Marg from ITO due to ongoing work on Yamuna river

The Delhi Police on Monday said traffic has been closed on one lane on Vikas Marg from ITO towards Laxmi Nagar due to the ongoing work on the Yamuna river. The police took to Twitter and urged commuters to plan their journey accordingly.

"Traffic is affected in one lane on Vikas Marg in the carriageway from ITO towards Laxmi Nagar due to ongoing work on the Yamuna river. Due to this, the right turn has been closed from 5 PM to 9 PM for commuters, coming from W point side. They may take U-turn from express cut for Laxmi Nagar. Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly," it tweeted.

The Yamuna in Delhi flowed more than a metre above the danger mark of 205.33 metres Monday morning, with authorities suspending the movement of trains on the Old Railway Bridge (ORB). (PTI)

India Monsoon LIVE Updates: Skymet predicts north east states will see lesser monsoon rains in coming days

The Northeast regions of the country have been seeing lesser Monsoon rains with heavy showers remaining out of sight. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Majbat recorded 51 mm of rain, Imphal 19 mm, Golaghat 15 mm, North Lakhimpur 12 mm, and Guwahati 4 mm.

Even in the coming days, we do not expect flooding rains over Northeast India which means residents can heave a sigh of relief. The reason for lesser rains over the region can be attributed to a Cyclonic Circulation over North Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coast. (Skymet)

India Monsoon LIVE Updates: Torrential rains over South India till July 28

IMD predicted there will be very heavy rainfall (between 115.6 and 204.5 millimetres) over South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and ghat areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherryon Monday. From Monday through Friday (July 24-28), isolated heavy to very heavy showers (64.5 mm–204.5 mm) are predicted for coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka.
