Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's son Yathindra Siddaramaiah has likened the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) RSS, the Ideological mentor of BJP, to Taliban.

The CM’s son made the comparison amid Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi’s state visit to India. The Taliban are a predominantly Pashtun, Islamic fundamentalist group that returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021 after waging a twenty-year insurgency.

Yathindra on Monday said the RSS wants to wants to enforce fundamentalist aspects of Hinduism the same way the Taliban issues diktats to ensure those tenets in Islam are followed.

"They (the RSS) have a similar mindset to that of the Taliban... they believe that in one religion only one view should be there. The Taliban issues diktats so Islam can be one particular way... they curtail freedom of women. Similarly, RSS also wants Hindu religion in one way only,” he said as quoted by NDTV.
