'Shared commitment to....': US Embassy after Anmol Bishnoi's deportation to India

Gangster Anmol Bishnoi was brought back to India after being deported from the United States of America.

A day after a Delhi court sent Anmol Bishnoi to 11 days of custody to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) after he was brought back from the US, the US Embassy in India underlined the joint partnership in dismantling terror associated networks.

In a tweet, the Embassy reiterated the shared commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the citizens of both countries. 'We appreciate our ongoing partnership with India’s security agencies as we work together to dismantle terror-associated networks and hold criminals accountable,' read the tweet.

The NIA produced Anmol, the brother and close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, amid tight security in Patiala House Court this evening after his arrest upon his deportation from the US. The court sent Anmol to 11 days of NIA custody on the agency’s plea seeking 15-day custodial interrogation of the accused.

Anmol, wanted in connection with the killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique, the firing at actor Salman Khan’s residence in April 2024, the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, and several other crimes.

He had been detained in US in November last year. Absconding since 2022, the US based Anmol is the 19th accused who was arrested for alleged involvement in the terror-gangster syndicate led by his brother, Lawrence Bishnoi.
