Russian President Vladimir Putin on India's 76th Republic Day sent his best wishes to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, commending India's progress over the past 75 years.
In his message, Putin said " Honourable Mrs President, Honourable Mr Prime Minister, Please accept sincere congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday - the Republic Day."
Putin praised India’s achievements in socio-economic growth, scientific advancements, and global prominence. He also emphasized the lasting and strong strategic partnership between Russia and India.
India and Russia have shared a long history of strong and prosperous bilateral ties dating back to the Soviet era.
Speaking on Russia’s relationship with India, Putin said, "Russian-Indian relations are based on special and privileged strategic partnership. I am confident that we will use joint efforts to continue to consistently build up productive bilateral cooperation across all areas, as well as constructive interaction in international affairs. Without a doubt, this meets the fundamental interests of our friendly peoples and is in line with the efforts to form a fair multipolar international order."
The Kremlin in a statement said, President Vladimir Putin sent heartfelt congratulations to President of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on the occasion of Republic Day, which is a national holiday in India."
The message also highlighted that the Constitution that came into force 75 years ago laid the foundation for building effective state institutions and a free democratic development of India.
The Russian President concluded his message by saying: "Sincerely wish the best of health and every success to you as well as happiness and well-being - to all Indian citizens."
As India celebrated its 76th Republic Day, embassies around the world shared their heartfelt congratulations, emphasizing India’s democratic progress and its significant role in global partnerships.
Messages flooded in from countries like the United States, France, Brazil, South Africa, the UAE, Nepal, Russia, China, and many others, highlighting the global recognition of India's achievements.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Embassy also conveyed its congratulations on Republic Day.
Sharing a post on X, it wrote, "The #Russian Embassy in #India cordially congratulates all Indian friends on the #RepublicDay."
