Both Prime Minister Modi and I recognise that in a world which is increasingly uncertain in trade and the economy, it is significant that two important and great democracies, the UK and India, have signed this agreement, providing stability and certainty. That stability is what creates opportunities, some of which we've already harnessed in the last 48 hours while we've been here, 10,600 jobs created through opportunities just during this delegation’s visit."
He added, "So, this is a really big opportunity, both for the UK and for India. And in a sense, that’s not just what I am saying or what the Prime Minister is saying, it’s what businesses are saying, it’s what the discussions are showing, it’s what cultural institutions are saying, and it’s what universities are saying. They see this as deeply significant in an uncertain world, and they are right about that."
