A man was apprehended on Monday at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport for allegedly carrying 10 live bullets in his bag, an official said.
I Hiramani was going through the security checks at the Indira Gandhi International airport at around 7:00 am when a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel detected few "bullet-like objects" in his luggage, said the senior official involved in airport security.
"Ten live bullet rounds of 32-calibre were recovered from his bag. He was handed over to the police as he could not produce the valid documents for carrying it," he added.
The man was supposed to take a flight to Bengaluru, he said.
This is not the first time that something like this has happened at the airport. Previously, a flight from Delhi had to make an emergency landing at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport due to a mobile-like device that had triggered suspicion and panic.
In another instance on August 21, drone-like objects were spotted on two different occasions at the Indira Gandhi International airport following which the airport operations had to be halted for almost an hour amid security concerns following the spotting of the objects.
In August, a bomb scare delayed a flight from New Delhi to Jaipur by three hours.
